Oliver - No More (for a while)!

Recently the pupils of Two Mile Ash School have been rehearsing for their school play of the Charles Dickens classic, Oliver Twist! Unfortunately, the production has been postponed, originally it was going to take place on the 28th and 29th of March but now it is going to be on the 3rd and 4th of July!

We have 3 different views on this decision, first from the person who plays the terrible Bill Sykes. His view on the situation was: “I don’t see why it was postponed, there was no problem with learning lines and it seems a very silly idea!” As you can see he wasn’t very pleased with the decision!

For the production, in less than 4 months, the school has provided a new, bigger stage and they are looking into getting someone in to film it. The cast have been practicing for an extremely long time and the songs and lines have been coming along well. Everyone was ready for the performance but yesterday a huge bomb shell was dropped on the entire cast! Next we have a view on the postponal from the pupil who plays Oliver. He said: “I was extremely disappointed when I heard the play was postponed but at least in a few months time when we do perform, it will be perfect!”

Everyone is enjoying their rehearsals and are having fun because they get to spend more time with their teachers and fellow cast members! Our final opinion about the production being postponed is from the musical director of the play, Mr Thorley. He told us: “I’m sorry it had to be postponed, however Mr Holt (head teacher) would not have postponed it unless it was absolutely necessary. What we should do now is make use of the extra time to produce an even better performance which will amaze all who watch it!”
