Dons a winner, but it wasn’t a thriller!

Last night the MK Dons enjoyed a 3-0 win over Macclesfield Town, which excited fans, including students from Leon School. Although Macclesfield had good possession their finishing was poor and their crossing even worse.

MK Dons made the most of the couple of chances that they had, scoring a goal just after the two minute mark. There was a scramble in the box with the MK Dons strikers trying to shoot. After some bad defending, the ball dipped up before Izale McLeod could hit it home, 1-0. Macclesfield then tried to fight back but rarely challenged the Dons keeper. Just before half time Jon-Paul McGovern whipped in a cross from a free-kick when tall Mk Dons striker, Clive Platt, headed into the bottom corner, 2-0.

After half time Macclesfield did a replica of the first half, by having a lot of possession but terrible shots and crosses. Juad Stirling came on at 64 minutes for Aaron Wilbraham however caused little threats with his huge throws. Then, just before the third goal, Leon Knight came on for a disappointed Izale McLeod. The third goal came from a cross by Gareth Edds that bounced off a few players before bobbling to Jon-Paul McGovern whose strike bounced off the post, then off Macclesfield’s Keeper Lee, before going into the net, 3-0. Then the MK Dons brought onto the pitch, a player on loan from reading, Jonathan Hayes, but no other goals where scored. The final Score was 3-0.
