Kate wore a long, dark brown skirt with a matching jacket. She had huge brown boots and black sunglasses. Not the typical dress sense for a young twenty-five year old! William wore a green jacket, a navy blue tie and a blue shirt. This had a huge impact on other people’s perception of what they would expect a young prince to wear. People said that they looked too smart and were overdressed for asuch an occasion as a horse race, bearing in mind that it was a very sunny day! 

Apparently Prince William isn’t that keen on racing, though he had a very successful start to the betting, quickly winning £30 on the first race. Maybe Kate urged him on? Well, that didn’t seem likely, as Kate only placed a sensible bet of £5. 

It was believed that Kate’s association with Prince William would bring some needed glamour to the royal family. However, after their recently seen outfits this has not appeared to be the case.

The young couple were being compared to Charles and Camillia.  People said William, wearing his latest outfit, looked very similar to his 58 year old father!
